What is an Orchestra?

The orchestra is a group of musicians that play music together. However to call it a Orchestra you have to have to have all 4 groups of instruments: brass, woodwind, strings and percussion. Together, they play mainly classical music and are led by a conductor who brings the musical score to life and helps direct which instrument is to be played and when by using different gestures. There are usually 45-100 musicians (sometimes even more) so very expensive to run!
